QUANADA provides emotional, physical, and crisis support for those who have been assaulted or abused. We offer counseling, advocacy, and a secure shelter.

Our services are totally free and confidential. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to anyone of any age who has been battered or abused.

QUANADA serves 5 counties in Illinois: Adams, Brown, Hancock, Schuyler, and Pike. Our main office is in Quincy, Illinois. We have satellite offices in Pittsfield, Rushville, and Mt. Sterling.

Dear Friends, In the early 1980s, Quincy-area service providers began noticing that many of their clients described experiences with domestic violence. The YWCA, Community Counseling Center, St. Mary's Hospital, Adams County Family Services, the State's Attorney Office, and several interested individuals recognized that the resources offered by local agencies were not adequate to address the needs of individuals and families affected by domestic violence. As a result, the Quincy Area Network Against Domestic Abuse (QUANADA) was born in 1983. As we celebrate our 40th year of serving survivors of domestic and sexual violence, we need your support more than ever to carry out our service expansions and strategic goals. Picture of Ashley Gallaher M.S.Ed., LCPC, NCC, CRADC, TAG Program Director The Accountability Group We expanded our services this year to begin offering partner abuse intervention programming to those who cause harm in relationships. The Accountability Group (TAG) is a 26 week psycho-educational program that aims to stop all forms of violence and abuse perpetrated by participants and assist them in developing skills for safe, respectful, and healthy relationships. The majority of participants are referred by the court system and must complete the program as a condition of their probation. The children's playground at our domestic violence shelter received a much needed update with attention toward inclusive design. Our new playground features musical instruments, a communication board, three different types of swings, an imaginative play structure, and rubberized pour-in-place surface. Inclusive playgrounds aren't just for people with limited mobility. They are universally designed, sensory-rich enviroments that enable children to develop physically, socially, and emotionally. The playground is officially open with only a few parts of the project left to complete. The final steps of the project include installation of fencing, an accessible walkway, and picnic benches.
